"Donuts & Design" Pop-up Outreach Event
September 21, 2019 The planning team set up tables and boards on a Saturday morning to engage community members at two busy Herriman locations - the JL Sorenson Recreation Center and the Smith's Grocery Store. As Herriman plans for the future, design details matter when considering what is a good fit for the future use of an area. Photos and images can communicate information about these types of details more than maps. People were asked to identify their top choice for six different types of uses represented by a collection of images.

Community Workshops/Open Houses
August 29, 2019 & October 10, 2019 In order to evaluate potential changes to the general plan and the future land use map, the planning team hosted community workshops to understand what matters most when comparing different scenarios. This information is being used to build alternative scenarios to consider, but also to understand what is most important to the community when making decisions about a preferred alternative. Using feedback gathered through the outreach process, several areas of importance to the community have been identified - including maintaining quality of life, bringing in economic opportunities to support the tax base, and ensuring a mix of amenities and housing option.
